Digital Agency
Or call Nick Grantham
Working for a large agency and strong design team. Design System expertise is crucial for this one.
Working as part of the digital innovation arm for a large agency, you’ll be working alongside a team of other high-calibre designers, delivering ground-breaking customer interactions, or generating long-term customer advocacy across the whole digital ecosystem. As an agency, their aim is to create digital experiences, products & campaigns which set new standards for everyone else to follow, not to mention some genuine out of the box thinking.
Although part of a wider team, with Leads who are more senior to you, this role would report straight to the Chief Design Officer, who sits at the top of the design chain. They want someone who is a Design Systems Expert and could even see the career progression moving onto reflect you as the go-to person within the agency for Design System work, which includes a possible title change… down the line.
They also offer a range of benefits, which include Life Assurance and Private Medical Care, Corporate Gym Membership and even half a day off before a bank holiday – work permitting.
Hybrid working: 3 days a week Tues/Wed/Thurs in the London office (non negotiable)
They’re looking for someone who is hungry to do their best work. A confident designer and a considerate and strong design communicator, who can collaborate, inspire, and achieve success with a team. Solving problems, achieving results. Making design outcomes to be proud of with great brands. And you love focusing on design systems to make this happen.
As well as experience with creating design systems (not just contributing to them), they want someone with lots of mobile-first experience and used to working in fast-paced environments with variety. You don’t necessarily need to have agency experience if you’ve gained that from a start-up for example.
You’ll be working on a wide range of web and app builds for some of the biggest bands in the UK and the world!
They need someone who’s confident, a people-person and knows design systems inside out. If you don’t know about things like Atomic Design or Design Tokens, you won’t be right, I’m afraid.
Your strong hand is Figma – you love it. You’re a pro at it. But you can jump into Sketch and Invision too, and know other prototyping tools like Protopie or Principle.
You have an interest and proven experience in creating and working with design systems for big brands and programs of work.
You’ll have a strong portfolio which not only show cases a variety of different types of UI projects but also and how brand visual language and interface design can come together to make beautiful and functional apps and websites.
You’ll also need to be very comfortable communicating decisions and reasoning with other team members as well as external stakeholders.
You’ll have a strong level of previous experience working as a UI Designer within an Agile and fast-paced environment.
