Date | June 2016 |
Version | 1 |
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement relates to actions and activities during the financial year 2022.
As a company we wholeheartedly welcome the introduction of the Modern Slavery Act 2015. This legislation is crucial in tackling slavery and human trafficking and we will not trade or partner with any business or organization which is involved in such practices however remotely or indirectly.
The statement sets down Zebra Peoples commitment to preventing slavery and human trafficking in our business activities and the steps we have put in place with the aim of ensuring that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our own business and supply chains. We all have a duty to be alert to risks, however small. Staff are expected to report their concerns and management to act upon them.
This statement covers the business activities of Zebra People which are as follows: we are specialist recruitment consultancy for the digital industry, recruiting positions such as but not exclusive to: Project Managers, User Experience designers, Visual and Motion Designers and Front and Back-end Developers for our clients.
The company was founded by Nick Cochrane. He and Ben Clarfelt are Directors of Zebra People.
Our supply chains include: IT services, utilities, mobile phone providers, training providers, printing services, cleaning services, stationery providers and banking services.
We have reviewed the risks that these supply chains can present. We expect our suppliers and contractors to demonstrate a zero-tolerance approach to exploitation. To this end we have inserted a clause into our contracts requiring that they comply with the provisions of the Act and granting us the right to terminate in the event of their failure to do so.
As part of our procurement process, we will only engage with suppliers and contractors who confirm their compliance with the Act. We will continue to keep our staff informed and raise awareness of how to recognize and respond to indicators of human rights abuses. We have adapted and re-promoted our existing policies to incorporate modern slavery and human trafficking issues, including our staff handbook and whistleblowing policy which allows employees to report any concerns confidentially.
This Modern Slavery and Human Trafficking Statement will be regularly reviewed and updated as necessary. Nick Cochrane and Ben Clarfelt endorse this policy statement and are fully committed to its implementation.
