It’s not easy to make a quick buck in finance, but this company are looking to help people understand how markets work and allow you to raise your game in one go.
Their application gives you the lowdown on the day’s top financial stories and how they affect you, and the wider world. You can delve deeper into market trends, companies and industries through their expert breakdown videos as well as connect with, and learn from, over 800,000 other users on their platform. These range from students who want to learn more, to CEOs that are happy to share their knowledge.
You’ll be joining an Engineering team that currently numbers 5 (plus the VP), so you will get more responsibility as well as hands on experience of scaling a company and it’s product (bonus points if you’ve done this before!).
You’ll get to work with a great stack: React, React Native, GraphQL, Django/Python – they don’t expect you to have experience in all of these skills, so here’s a brief overview of what they think could be a good background:
Full-Stack Engineer (React or React Native + strong server-side experience in any language)
No one wants to feel like they’ve hit a glass ceiling which is why they’re offering you the opportunity to progress as fast as you can do it and they’ll do everything they can to get you to where you want to be. They’ll even map out a plan to get you there as soon as you join!
Why are they hiring…
The product has been doing really well of late having ramped up revenue and they require more support. Simple as that!
How have they adjusted to the current situation?
Everything is remote at the moment and will be so for the foreseeable. Most of their existing team have said they’d like to go to a part-time remote model – so 2-3 days remote, 2-3 days in the office. Ideally they’d like someone who was keen to at least join a couple of weeks in the office, but they’re not super strict on that.
Let’s face it; every company and job advert talk about how great their culture is. That’s why they think you’ll get a better steer from the type of benefits they offer. Check these out…
Not to mention the company having an incredibly diverse workforce, lots of events to go to, cross-collaboration across teams and lastly, a deep sense of meaning and purpose behind what you do, every single day.
What to expect from the interview process…
This will be in your standard three stages. Firstly an initial 30 minute chat with the VP of Engineering to find out a little more about your background. This is a two way process though so he’s happy to field questions from yourself. This’ll be followed by a technical test and then a final interview, where they’d delve a bit deeper technically. You’ll also get to meet a few other members of the team.
