We’re working with well-loved retail brand Waitrose who are looking for a Head of Product and Experience Design to join their team!

The client

For the past few years, the John Lewis and Partners brand have been on a mission to transform their business, making massive investments into the design and experience teams to expand their digital, virtual and delivery service offerings. They’re now keen to replicate with Waitrose the success they’ve had with their John Lewis digital transformation.

The role

Within this role, you’ll be owning everything from research through to visuals. You’ll be working collaboratively to enhance existing Waitrose journeys and designing/delivering exciting new products and services, including a mobile app, and re-doing their main website. Ultimately you’ll be responsible for building out Waitrose’s overarching strategy, so you’ll be looking at everything from a holistic standpoint. You’ll also be heading up a team of Product Designers, UX Designers, Service Designers and UX Researchers. Around 26 people at the moment, but the plan is to grow this to around to 40. An integral part of this role is around the coaching and personal development of this team.

The candidate

What they’re looking for:

You’ve previously managed and scaled teams of 20+ in a Head of position
Ideally you’ve worked in a large-scale organisation before, so you’re used to navigating those types of environments
You’ve managed teams with end-to-end capabilities before (Research, Service, Product Design)
You can evidence that you’ve previously driven performance in a team and unified the team under a vision
You’ve got strong experience around retail/ consumer purchasing

💸 Salary: Up to £114,000 + benefits 🏡 WFH policy: Their office is based in greater London but attendance is super flexible 💬 Interview process: 2-3 stage (most likely 2)

1^st: Initial chat with the Head of Product
2^nd: 90-120min presentation
3^rd: A potential chat with their Director of Online
