UX and Service Design

Senior UX Designer

Tech business focussed on mobile

This exciting client are in need of a contract Senior UX Designer to help them define and design the front-end for a real-time data analytics platform on behalf of their client, a global FMCG brand.

Collaborating with a member of their Strategy team and the client’s business analysts, the project involves defining and designing the front-end for a real-time data analytics platform (sitting on top of Power BI) for a global FMCG brand. The tool will help the company’s divisional and category teams to improve their overall decision making.

Existing research conducted jointly with them will feed into the project, establishing the desired user-outcomes and opportunity areas to set a product vision. These will be used to frame the design work you do, which will involve organising complex information and establishing the appropriate navigation and architecture for the product.

From sketching onwards, the design work will involve iterating multiple ideas and concepts through rapid prototyping and testing to validate product direction, moving towards high-fidelity* wireframes as you go.

* For the sake of clarity, the high-fidelity wireframes are to capture the hierarchy, detail and functionality of the screens, NOT to capture visual design / branding (unless you have a flare for that also).

Key points/skills;

  • Data-viz (as in truly knowing what types of charts to use to display data in specific circumstances for particular needs
  • High-fidelity wireframing (as in truly getting under the skin of the product and properly capturing the details)
  • Create tappable prototypes to illustrate user journeys and flows
  • Self-starter, hands-on and able to move fast and taking ownership of the tasks (it’s a small team of one other)
  • Power BI experience or similar – the client feels knowledge of it is important but they are broadening it out to include people who know similar tools like Tableau.

  • 5th Aug start for 5 weeks, initially
  • £400-450 per day
