Are you passionate about leveraging technology to drive positive global change? Want to play a key role in developing innovative data analytics systems for a consultancy that's making waves in the sustainability sector?
A bit about them?
They’re a young, ambitious consultancy startup dedicated to accelerating the global sustainability transition. Their innovative approach combines deep technical expertise with cutting-edge modelling tools to provide actionable insights to major corporations worldwide.
They’re committed to becoming a leader in their field, delivering exceptional value to their clients, and fostering a diverse, exciting work environment. Join them for a chance to fast-track your career, tackle meaningful challenges, and be part of a team that’s making a real difference.
What you’d be doing?
You’ll collaborate with cross-functional teams to design and implement software solutions that address complex sustainability challenges. Your focus will be on building internal tooling that consultants use to deliver these insights to clients.
You’ll be responsible for creating high-performance, secure systems with a strong emphasis on data management and analysis. Your work will span ETL pipelines, data backends, and web applications, ensuring their technology can handle the complex modelling requirements of their sustainability analyses.
As a Senior Engineer, you’ll also play a crucial role in establishing and evolving the standards and practices of the new Engineering Team, mentoring less experienced engineers, and driving requirements for clarity on ambiguous problems.
What’s in it for you?
You’ll be joining a newly established and growing Engineering Team, working on advanced modelling tools that provide crucial climate scenario insights to FTSE clients across various industries. As a senior member of the team, you’ll have the opportunity to shape their technology stack and contribute directly to impactful sustainability solutions.
You’ll have a flexible work environment, splitting your time between a central London office and home working. You’ll be at the heart of their dynamic startup environment, with direct access to stakeholders and the chance to wear multiple hats beyond your core engineering role.
You’ll get a competitive salary of up to £100K, with a potential annual bonus on top of your base salary. On top of this, you’ll receive full private medical insurance, pension, contribution towards phone and Wi-Fi, and opportunities for learning and development. You’ll also be part of an employee options scheme in the near future, allowing you to share in the company’s success.
About you?
You’ll be an established Senior Software Engineer with at least 7 years of experience in software development and systems engineering. You should be proficient in Python and have a track record of delivering production software systems that incorporate various data backends, query languages, and ORM frameworks.
Your expertise should include API design, web application development, and a background in data engineering, particularly with ETL pipelines.
While not mandatory, experience with modern cloud technologies and platforms such as AWS, Azure, GCP, Kubernetes and Docker, plus knowledge of or interest in sustainability and climate-related issues would be advantageous.
We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.
Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.
We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
Let's work together to find the right people, fast.
We'll partner with you to find a company you can grow with.
