We are getting an increasing amount of Service Design briefs in across a variety of clients, from Government Services and Retailers through to Consultancies and Specialist Agencies.

Some of the briefs will vary in terms of seniority and experience but they all require candidates who’ve at least worked on a handful dedicated Service Design projects with deliverable such as service blueprints, end-to-end journey maps and strategic business consultation alongside many familiar UX Research methodologies and findings.

You will apply user-centered design methods to translate user needs, business objectives, and technology capabilities into logical, cost-effective and seemless end-to-end, holistic solutions and experiences.

Many clients will expect you to come from a UX background potentially but some are more open given the business focus these roles have. Regardless, these roles won’t be for you if new and wanting to get into Service Design. Nor are they suitable if you’ve just worked on end-to-end UX projects (although I’ll happily talk to you about other UX-focussed contracts).

You’ll need to have worked as a Service Designer in previous roles I’m afraid. But again, some roles are more senior than others, so as long as you have some genuine commercial experience as Service Designer it’s worth applying.

If this sounds of interest and suits your experience, then please send your CV and portfolio to me ASAP to stand the best chance of getting an interview!

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
