Rapidly growing and having recently hit 140 people, this Data Privacy Enterprise Software company was founded in London and has presence around the world. They aim to build software to enable the safe and ethical use of valuable data for both analytics and machine learning. Working with a variety of large organisations around the world, in sectors as varied as financial services, pharma and telecommunications, they enable these businesses to get the most out of their data without compromising on privacy or security.
How does their platform work?
Most insights that are valuable to organisations stem from analysing sensitive data. This company’s product enables analysts and data scientists to find, understand and share useful datasets. By maximising the utility of the data and expanding its safe access, organisations can improve insights to prevent money laundering, improve sales and enhance research models through data sharing and enable cloud migration technologies.
What does the engineering culture look like?
The technology team as a whole numbers around 45, based mainly in London though with a small presence in Israel. These are split into several smaller teams, each numbering between 5 and 6. In each there’s generally a Tech Lead, a Frontend Engineer and 3-4 Java Engineers.
Together they’re building a modern data provisioning platform, which is deployed by their enterprise customers in managed environments. They’re looking for you to contribute to their design system and internal UI frameworks, as well as building out the product functionality.
They like people who’ve a flair for design and UX, as well as appreciating polish in user interfaces. They’re also keen for you contribute and improve the development practices and processes within the team and be a touch point on all things frontend
What does the stack look like?
The new application is built using TypeScript and React on the frontend, working with GraphQL APIs served by a Java backend. They care a lot about the architecture, and believe frontend code should be as well structured and tested as the back end application.
Backend wise, they build in Java on AWS, making use of Docker and newer tools such as Kubernetes.
What’s in it for me?
They’re offering a salary of up to £100K, as well as 30 days holiday (plus bank holidays). They’ve also recently introduced the freedom to work from anywhere in the world for a month, as well as matching pension contributions up to 5% and giving stock options within the company. They’ve a flexible working culture and would be looking for people to pop into the office once or twice a week ideally, though can flex on this for the right person. They also offer 20 weeks full pay maternity, and 12 weeks full pay paternity.
