“The Technical team at Zebra have without question been a key part of our early growth. We look for partners who we can trust to represent our brand and share our values, and they are truly that trusted extension to our own team. Zebra’s passion and commitment to keeping candidates (the people) at the heart of what they do is paired with genuine time and care into understanding us beyond the core job requirements — our culture, values, stage, challenges, process — resulting in great people in roles they love, time and time again. I have frequently and wholeheartedly recommended working with Mitch and the team.”
Monique Major, Head of Talent at Vault Platform
Security software start-up Vault were looking to build an entire engineering team over two years.
They need to hire Software Engineers, a QA Engineer, a DevOps Engineer and a Lead Security Engineer. The challenge was to build not just a team, but a diverse one with a split of different ethnicities and genders – all comfortable working in the fast-paced start-up environment.
Working with start-ups comes with its own very specific demands. Before starting, we looked beyond the brief: we had discussions with Vault about the culture they were looking to build, which was key to the candidates we targeted.
We also collaborated with Vault on improving candidate feedback turnaround (by introducing a Trello Board where feedback and comments could be left, and candidates moved quickly through the stages), as well as slimming down their interview process.
Over a two year period, Zebra People hired Vault’s first Engineering Team, consisting of 10 people – 7 Software Engineers, a DevOps Engineer, a QA Engineer and an Information Security Lead.
