UX Designer

Charity, Non-Profit

We all know the saying; The customer is always right. But what about the customers "rights"?

Fighting for someone isn't exclusive to the less-fortunate. It applies to every parent trying to save money for their children. It applies to the student trying to find the best school to learn at. It applies to the elderly looking for the best care.

You can help them win this fight by taking back the power from big corporations and putting it back into the consumers hands. ✊

The client

This registered charity exists for you, the consumer. Close to a century old now and based in Euston, they’ve spent decades fighting for the consumer.

With divisions in Travel ✈️, Finance 💰, Education 📚, Legal ⚖️, Tech📱, Tradesmen 👷 and many more, the emphasis has always been on empowering the consumer across these key areas, in-store and online. In today’s digital age however, it’s shifted towards empowering the consumer online even more.

This is why they need you.

The role

Joining a team of 4 UX Designers, 2 User Researchers and collaborating closely with a team of Visual Designers and Developers, you’ll report into the Lead UX Designer while sitting within the larger Product team.

What you’ll do will depend on the area you’ll focus on; you could work in Travel for 6 months, 3 months in Education, 2 weeks in Finance. Whichever it is, every project will be UX first.

How will we make it user-centric? Do the prototypes cater to user needs? Does the research inform and validate your designs? These are just some of the key questions you’ll ask throughout a project.

You won’t be fighting for UX or convincing difficult stakeholders. UX already has immense buy-in.

You’ll focus on doing proper UX i.e. low-mid fidelity wireframes and prototypes, designing user flows, leading workshops, collaborate with UI Designers, communicate designs to Developers etc.

The candidate

Other than gaining value and meaning knowing your work is helping people, you’ll also get incredible training; internal or external, each person gets a personalised training budget.

You’ll also be encouraged to experiment; whether it’s trying new tech or delving into service design, you’ll get immense freedom to try new things in your work.

Incredible social environments are hard to come by but not when every person is working towards the same goal. This is why you’ll enjoy coming to work everyday. With a very open, friendly and nurturing environment, you’ll feel at home everyday with plenty of support and mentoring from senior members.
