We are working with John Lewis who are looking to scale their Digital & Experience teams in a goal to reach more customers.
John Lewis began trading over 150 years ago in 1864 and have grown into one of the UK’s most recognised and loved stores/brands. They currently have 32 stores across the UK with and additional 332 Waitrose, however, are looking to grow their digital output.
They were one of the first companies to try a new way of working where their employees owned a part of the business calling them partners. To this day they are the largest employee-owned business in the UK with over 80,000 partners across their two very well-known brands.
The company are on a journey to find a happier, more trusted way of conducting business and strongly believe all their partners have a role in this.
Since the end of 2020 they have been on a large-scale transformation with the main goal of being able to reach more customers. Due to this they have made huge investments in their Design & Experience teams and are trying to expand their digital, virtual and delivery services.
At the moment, the team is comprised of around 40 designers including, Service, UX and UI and are looking to increase this quite considerably as well by adding a total of 11 new designers across the team.
In the role you don’t just focus on one project and have the chance to move around and work on various projects depending on needs, some of the key things you could be working on would include:
They are looking for skilled designers who have relevant industry experience in end-end UX Design and will need to have a portfolio to prove it. You’ll need to be able to demonstrate working from discovery stage to finished product, with a clearly defined process for each stage in between. You have a great eye for detail and can communicate clearly and translate ideas to stakeholders and team members alike.
This role requires a talented people-person who can work within cross-functional teams and demonstrate experience of both designing and delivering products that span multiple touchpoints, at pace and using Lean, Agile and user-centred design methodologies.
