UX Designer (with some visual design capability)

Investment-Tech company

Great opportunity to get into or develop your experience not only within UX but also the financial sector, working on a product-basis alongside a Lead UX Consultant already in the team.

The client

Past the start-up phase but still quite young, this company has about 35 people in total, with a very slick office space, overlooking London. They’re very well funded and offer great infrastructure and benefits given the size and age of the company.

They offer 3 core products, all to do with trading and market intelligence within the world of investment. Essentially they’re all about aggregating data and using it effectively. They also offer their service via an app, which you would also work on.

They are a bit more corporate compared to your trendy advertising agency types, but they also like to have fun and be sociable, doing things like BBQ’s on their roof terrace as well as ‘Beer Fridays.’

The role

You would be working very closely with the Product and Development team as well as their Lead UX and Design consultant.

They would also need you to have some design capability since they don’t have dedicated visual designers as part of the team. With that in mind they’re not expecting you to have stacks of in-depth UX research experience nor do you need previous experience working within the financial or investment sector before, although any would obviously be a bonus.

You would be working across their 3 core products as mentioned previously, both for their website and app.

The candidate

They’re looking for a Mid-Senior UX Designer with some visual design capability.

You’ll need to be able to hold your own but know when to ask for help, whilst also knowing when to say ‘no’ and stand-up for your decision making. Being able to manage expectations effectively and remain strong-willed will really help you thrive here.

You will also be sociable, empathetic and able to work closely within a multidisciplinary team.

You’ll ideally be able to use Sketch and InVision whilst working within an Agile environment.

Although you don’t need the same sector experience already, they will be expecting to see evidence of working on complex products as opposed to just marketing or campaign work within your portfolio.

If this sounds of interest and suits your experience, then please send your CV and portfolio to me ASAP to stand the best chance of getting an interview!
