UI Designer (Mobile apps)

As the first UI Specialist on the team you will have the chance to own all things Visual for both the Web and Mobile app while collaborating with the wider design team for the full end to end process.

The client

A fast-paced FinTech which is transforming the way in which customers engage with payments and loyalty programs by creating a seamless ‘Set-up and forget’ process, taking the need for remembering a loyalty program out of the equation. This reduces friction, improves engagement and ultimately earns customers better rewards!

In 2019, they received a large investment from a major high street bank which has enabled them to sustain continuous growth and be minimally impacted by Covid 19.

The role

Now looking to add a UI designer to join the Product team, supporting the Head of UX by bringing their product to life with a much more visually appealing aesthetic. This includes working across both their app and web app, as well as integrations with partner apps and websites.

This is a unique opportunity as a Mid-Senior to define and carry forward the design vision of their native app (iOS and Android), as well as integrate the functionality within their partners’ specific visual identities. (Some of whom a very large name brands within finance whose apps are already in the hands of millions). You will be instrumental in providing guidance and best practices to their partners, as they implement your feature sets within their own environments.

You will work closely with the Head of UX and Head of Product to define and execute the visual identity, CX, UX and UI across all digital channels, as well as in deliverables to our partners (assets, presentations, etc.). While your role will be primarily focused on UI, there will be ample opportunity to grow and be involved with UX, interaction design, branding, visual identity, etc. The role will also work with the Mobile Development team to deliver designs and assets as needed.

Key responsibilities…

  • Own the UI and Visual identity for their Native app and website
  • Own the UI for integrations into partner apps and websites (banks, major retailers)
  • Maintain a consistent design system for use across both own products and partner integrations.
  • Working with the Head of Customer Experience to deliver visual assets and designs
  • Using high level user journey to create individual screen designs
  • Collaborate with Developers to ensure the technical feasibility of the proposed visual designs
  • Assist the Head of Customer Experience in creating assets for user testing (interviews, remote, A/B testing etc.)

The candidate

What you need:

  • A background in UI design for both web and Mobile apps.
  • A portfolio showing off your past projects of beautiful and clean designs.
  • Proficient in working with design software’s of choice (Figma, Sketch, Adobe etc.)
  • Proven experience designing iOS and Android apps is a must.
  • Proven ability to collaborate with cross functions.
