Test Engineer

SaaS start-up

A VC-backed start up who are on a mission to become the leading vertically integrated florist software and ecosystem.

The client

They launched back in 2016 and since then have seen solid growth, as well as being voted one of the top 100 start-ups in the UK. Their main base of operations is the UK, though they’re currently expanding into the US at a fast pace.

The role

As such they’re looking for a Test Engineer to join and help strengthen their platform. They’ve ambitious plans for growth over the next year and this is a chance to join them at the beginning of these plans – currently they’ve 5 engineers but looking to double this as well as adding a Testing and DevOps capacity. It’s a great chance to shape some of the key modules of the core product offering, and influence and build the testing culture within the team.

The role is a balance between manual and automated testing and you’ll be tasked with leading the development of automated test solutions, as well as ensuring that new releases are functional, of high quality and without regressions. You’ll be the person tasked with evolving and driving forward the testing culture within the company, by ensuring best practices, standards and tooling are used. You’ll also be the go to person for ideas on how to improve their testing capability.

Their tech stack looks like this: JavaScript, React, Node, PostgreSQL, Elasticsearch, Kubernetes and AWS.

The candidate

As such they’re looking for someone to join them who has a background in both manual and automation testing, ideally with tools such as Chai, Cypress and Cucumber. They’re a very Agile company so you’ll have to be comfortable with this.

They’re offering a salary of up to £75K, as well as 95% remote work (they get together once a month for planning sessions in London). You’ll also get a MacBook Pro, 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays) with many more plans in the pipeline for perks.
