Product Lead for exciting leadership role within Govt

6 Month CONTRACT – £550 PER DAY (inside of IR35)

Product Manager / Product Lead

The Service Owner is an outward-facing role in which they lead on business strategy, what needs to be achieved to meet organisational goals. They empower two, inward looking roles to figure how organisational needs are achieved through meeting the needs of users: Delivery Managers/Product Managers.

You’ll need to have some govt experience for this role, either direct, or working for a govt client at an agency or consultancy. You’ll need to understand the inner workings of govt to be successful in the role, and will need to be able to demonstrate this.

The role

  • Simplify the organisation’s goals so that teams know what success looks like and can focus on meeting the needs of users.
  • The Service Owner is a leadership role
  • You’ll understand all the organisational goals that have accumulated and overlapped – you’ll work to align them, resolving conflict, agreeing them with colleagues, and share them with delivery teams as SMART goals;
  • You’ll understand the digital specialists in their delivery teams and the ways that they work, such that they can explain what needs to be achieved to meet organisational goals, and trust teams to figure out how to do this by meeting the needs of users.

You’ll empower two, inward looking roles to figure how organisational needs are achieved through meeting the needs of users: – Product managers lead product strategy: how products achieve organisational goals through meeting the needs of users – Delivery managers lead delivery strategy: how people and teams build and improve software that meets product goals.

The ideal candidate will come from a Product Manager or Delivery Manager background, and be able to demonstrate examples of leadership, business acumen and stakeholder management skills.
