UX and Service Design

Senior UX/UI Designer

FinTech Analytics Company

A chance to play a crucial part within a small UX Design team that supports a number of agile development teams. You'll be creating and shaping digital products for the company's growing product portfolio.

The client

These guys have proven to be a very successful and rapidly growing financial analytics company who are now owned by a much larger firm yet still retain their own individual feel along with the substantial benefits package offered by their parent company. They also have a very big social aspect within their culture along with a flexible working structure, with many of them doing at least 1 day from home a week. Although they’re within the FinTech sector, these guys definitely don’t require you to work within a corporate and suit-wearing environment.

They’re about 100 people strong with a really good mix of experiences starting from graduate level upwards. Lots of very clever people there due to the complex type of products and services offered.

They offer 2 key services. 1 is software used by large financial services consultancies, whilst the other is analytical reporting they do directly with a range of high-end Global companies.

Essentially, they do a lot of B2B dashboards – so think data visualisation and vast, complex amounts of data!

The role

You’ll join a current team of 2, which consists of 1 Junior UI/UX Designer and 1 UX Lead.

As Senior UX/UI Designer you’ll champion the integral values of Design Thinking, Visual Design and User Experience Design to help shape the vision on projects.

You will be responsible for producing UX and UI deliverables along with a firm understanding of user-centered design processes, a solid grounding in Agile and lean development processes. Your portfolio will also need to highlight this.

You will work very closely with Product Managers and the Development team not to mention the existing Design team.

Key Responsibilities include;

  • Designing concepts across multi-platforms
  • Conveying design concepts to various internal and external audiences
  • Ability to design & define static and interactive Data Visualisation solutions
  • Plan and run user research, prototype and concept testing, and usability testing
  • Experience working with and defining design systems
  • Defining and mapping out user journeys and workflows
  • Confident use of sketches and storyboarding to communicate ideas and solutions

The candidate

  • Previous experience in digital interface design for products, websites and mobile
  • Solid core design skills in relation to layout, grids, typography, colour, scale, composition, tone & iconography
  • Experience with the testing of design work to improve based on learnings
  • Passion for planning and running user research
  • Fully trained with demonstrable experience of Agile using Scrum and/or Kanban
  • Proficient with Sketch & Zeplin
  • Happy to travel a few times a year to clients in the UK and US
