Senior UX Researcher

High end retailer

An opportunity to join an existing and high calibre UX team for a hugely well-known and respected retailer. In this role, as part of the Product team, you will demonstrate experience of generative and evaluative research to deliver both digital and non-digital products at pace using Lean, Agile and user-centred design methodologies.

The client

This client stands head and shoulders above many other retailers within the UK, both online and in the high street.

They have a considerable buy-in to UX methodologies and as a result, already have a sizable team with top quality UX Researchers and Designers already in place.

You would be part of the new Insight function, which is set to bring about a big change in how the division positions itself as an insight-driven business. The teams and individuals will work to deliver value through influencing business decisions that improve customer and partner experience, increasing productivity and brand quality even further.

The role

This role is key in informing and inspiring the user experiences created, ensuring they’re useful, usable and valuable for the client’s customers across different business areas.

The Senior UX Researcher is responsible for understanding end users through proactively and reactively conducting UX research (using a broad range of research methods) which informs the design process from the perspective of the end-user.

You will be an advocate within the team and wider business for UX research and support opportunities to build capability beyond the digital customer experience, supporting a wider understanding of user-centred design through a generative, evaluative, iterative and exploratory process to aid decision-making and test assumptions and hypotheses.

You will know when and how to apply the right research methodology, tools and techniques including expert reviews, lab, in store and remote usability testing, card sorting, diary studies, surveys across website, mobile site, apps and all digital platforms including in-store tech.

You will run workshops on customer needs and generate enthusiasm for customer centric thinking.

You will also be an ambassador for UX research with stakeholders and within the Insight function; seeking out powerful, richer insight and demonstrating an ability to be innovative and proactive using user research.

The candidate

You will need to have good experience with;

  • Usability/requirements analysis
  • Information architecture
  • Retail/ecommerce
  • Working knowledge of UX testing and software
  • Commercial awareness
  • Stakeholder management
  • Able to work in a lab and remote environments

Needless to say they’ll be expecting to see candidates who’ve worked in a pure UX Research capacity in previous positions.
