How they work and how User Experience fits in…?
User Experience is embedded throughout the business. In fact, every project starts with a deep consideration of how and where UX and UX Research will form the basis of all decisions. UCD thinking is also very important here. No fighting for budgets, you’ll have it on every project.
UX and UX Research is also not siloed out – all UX Consultants do both Research and core UX Design. It’s one of those rare places that understands you can’t have good design without good research fundamentals.
UX Consultants also work in Agile product squads across their vast client list – Paypal, Loreal, HBO, O2, Discovery Channel and more – with each squad made up of a UX Consultant, UI Designer, Developer, BA, QA, Scrum Master, Project Manager and a few others.
What they’re hiring for and responsibilities…?
Joining a team of 4, you’ll be the Senior UX Consultant on the team taking responsibility of some of their biggest and key accounts. You’ll liaise with senior stakeholders, hold workshops, conduct user research and use that insight to validate and inform the UX Design of digital products across web, mobile, voice and in-car experiences.
As a Senior member of the team, you’ll also mentor and coach junior members on team, helping them to understand the fundamentals of UX and how they can improve both professionally and personally.
There are lots of interesting case studies found on their website however, they’ve done a lot pitching recently and won some pretty cool work too that’ll be offered to you from day one. This includes:
Paypal used to be the disrupters but are now being disrupted by the likes of Monzo, Tandem etc. This agency is working with them to transform the business to allow Paypal to thrive in the world of challenger banks and give easy access to your bank accounts.
Exploring how Voice could be implemented by creating Amazon Alexa voice commands. Integrating into the website as well so that the website works much better for voice.
Complete platform redesign with additional support for in-car experiences. 2-year project that is launching in 21 countries.
UX team members often travel to see clients in Europe and to collaborate with other offices so it’s great opportunity if you love travelling and exploring the world. This isn’t mandatory though but they will offer all of this free of charge!

What to expect from the interview process…?
This will be in 2 stages. First, you’ll meet the Head of UX who you’ll talk through your CV with and any work examples you might have.
Second, you’ll meet the Head of UX again but also be joined by some of the UX Consultants. At this stage, there will be a small task to prepare in advance – this won’t involve any design or thorough research, it will be much more to understand how you would approach a design brief.
