Voted Agency of the Year 40+ times working with some of the biggest brands in the world including Netflix, Playstation, Nike, Beats by Dre, Verizon, Grey Goose, Amazon Prime, Rolls Royce, Bvlgari, Eurostar and hundreds of others, this is an opportunity not to be missed!
Who they are…?
This is a digital agency that’s been around for over 2 decades with offices in Europe, North America, South America, Asia and Australasia. 2100 people globally and 180 digital in the London office across Innovation & Eexperience Design, Data Science, Engineering and Business Transformation & Commerce.
Based in central London within a richly layered and textured space where almost everything has been custom made, this space is distinctive and exciting, while at the same time sophisticated and true to their ethos.
How they work and how User Experience fits in…?
User Experience is embedded throughout the business. In fact, every project starts with a deep consideration of how and where UX and UX Research will form the basis of all decisions. UCD thinking is also very important here. No fighting for budgets, you’ll have it on every project.
UX and UX Research is also not siloed out – all UX Consultants do both Research and core UX Design. It’s one of those rare places that understands you can’t have good design without good research fundamentals.
UX Consultants also work in Agile product squads across their vast client list – Paypal, Loreal, HBO, O2, Discovery Channel and more – with each squad made up of a UX Consultant, UI Designer, Developer, BA, QA, Scrum Master, Project Manager and a few others.
What they’re hiring for and responsibilities…?
Joining a team of 5, you’ll be the Senior UX Architect/Designer on the team reporting directly into the board-level Group UX Director.
You’ll take responsiblity of some of their key accounts including a huge project for Rolls Royce soon after joining.
You’ll liaise with senior stakeholders, hold workshops, conduct user research and use that insight to validate and inform your UX Design of digital products across web, mobile, voice and in-car experiences.
As a Senior member of the team, you’ll also mentor and coach junior members on team, helping them to understand the fundamentals of UX and how they can improve both professionally and personally.
There is also a unique opportunity to travel to clients in USA, Europe, Asia and other areas in the world.
UX team members often travel to see clients in Europe and to collaborate with other offices so it’s great opportunity if you love travelling and exploring the world. This isn’t mandatory though but they will offer all of this free of charge!
No one wants to feel like they’ve hit a glass ceiling which is why they’re offering you the opportunity to progress to Lead UX as fast as you can do it and they’ll do everything they can to get you there.
Why are they hiring…?
To put it simply, the UX Director is incredibly hands on at the moment but as he is board level, he’s not been able to give clients the time and attention they deserve. Hence why he is looking for a Senior to step in, take over some of those accounts (and new accounts!) while still being able to mentor and coach junior members of the team.
Incredibly diverse – 30+ different languages spoken in the building and a healthy mix of genders, race, nationalities, religions and beliefs all in the spirit of collaboration. Very proud of how diverse the teams are.
For an agency, their hours are far more realistic than others. Usually 9-5.30PM on most days. Remote/flexible working is offered and can be agreed in advance i.e. start late, finish early or working from home once a week.
On top of this, they have a brilliant package that speaks volumes about their culture!
Not to mention the company having an incredibly diverse workforce, lots of events to go to, cross-collaboration across teams and lastly, a deep sense of meaning and purpose behind what you do, every single day.
Why you might be right…?
Maybe you’re a Senior UX Designer already but bored of working on the same thing. Maybe you’re a Senior who’s hit a glass ceiling. Maybe you’re someone who wants to coach and mentor more.
All of these reasons and more might be why you’re right.
What to expect from the interview process…?
This will be in 2 stages. First, you’ll meet the UX Director who you’ll talk through your CV with and any work examples you might have.
Second, you’ll meet the UX Director again but also be joined by some of the UX Consultants.
Should things go well, they’ll make you an offer soon after that!
