The client

This start-up are passionate about DesignOps and building out tools that the next generation of product teams will use to deliver design more effectively at scale.

So far, they have launched a design system documentation product that through word-of-mouth alone is being used by over 1000 customers including multiple Fortune 100s. However, design system documentation is just the beginning… they’re now perfectly positioned to become a leader in DesignOps software and transform how products are built.

They are currently a small team of just 12 people across the business, but due to some great successes and early adopters they are already profitable and beginning to scale. The plan is to be 40 people in the next 12 months and double again the following year.

The next key hire in this growth could be you, as a Senior Product Designer.

The role

As the first Product Designer in the team you’ll own the full end to end design lifecycle from research through to Visual Design and your primary responsibility will be to ensure that users understand and enjoy using the product.

However, the business want to ensure that design is at the heart of everything they do from an early stage, so you will also play a pivotal role in establishing design thinking and UCD practices into the business from day one.

The candidate

What you need:

  • Previous experience in an end to end Product Design role and a portfolio of case studies outlining your process.
  • Have a truly user centric approach and can demonstrate your experience conducting user research and testing.
  • It’s ideal if you have experience working on web based, SaaS products. However, experience with any products that have complex use cases and journeys will be considered.
  • You’ll be up for the challenge that comes with any start-up. Happy to set up new processes, wear many hats and roll up your sleeves.
