Senior Product Designer

E-commerce Gift Marketplace

Senior Product Designer needed to work for an online marketplace that offers quality and beautiful gifts curated by a selection of independent businesses.

The client

Our client help the hand selected independent providers (who create unique gifts that they have designed and uploaded to the website themselves) by making those products accessible – providing an alternative to traditional retail and offering an eCommerce channel. Customers type in a delivery postcode, and select a bespoke gift to send in a matter of clicks.

The role

Not only will you work on the general site in which customers can purchase and send these gifts to loved ones, but the majority of your work will be on the new B2B platform focused on the supply side which is helping these small businesses in sourcing their product, ultimately helping them to grow.

The candidate

What we’re looking for:

A solid end to end designer is needed with research skills as well as UX and UI.

You will come in as the sole designer (for the time being) so you must be confident in owning a process. There is less need for you to be involved in the ‘business needs’ aspect of the product design process as the product roadmap has already been established and set for the next 12 months. This role is much more about helping to implement the new features in the roadmap and improve the overall experience.

Research will be much more weighted to testing than discovery as a lot of the initial discovery work has happened which is what fed the roadmap. However, any experience in discovery research will obviously be a bonus for the future. The key is that you can understand user data and create user journeys, rapidly ideate and prototype, test and take through to visual design and developer hand over for delivery.

  • Ideal past experience: Ecommerce/marketplaces and mobile apps.

Remote Working Policy:

Currently there is no office due to covid and the lack of need so it was closed. You are able to work fully remote, or if you want to get out the house there can be arrangements made for you to have a working space (e.g wework) until an office is re-opened.

UK based applicants only.

Interview Process:

Things are ready to move quickly in order to secure the right person!

First stage: 30 min chat

Second stage: Interview (with potential whiteboard session)

After which if you are successful, you will receive an offer letter within 24 hrs
