Senior Product Designer - AI & Ecommerce

Ecommerce Group

Bespoke and innovative products, AI tech, true customer centricity and ownership over your work in an autonomous yet highly collaborative environment...what could be better?

The client

With over 20 years of building a brand, customer base and product offering this group of brands keep going from strength to strength. Now with 5 leading brands and over 1300 people across 5 international offices this is an opportunity to work on products used by 12million+ customers in multiple countries.

As a business their values are all centered around collaboration, support, innovation and having their customers at the heart of everything they do.

Following a recent re-org, their product teams are now sat in cross-functional, agile squads that work autonomously to solve their own goals. They are delivery focused with minimal KPI’s and despite sitting in their own squads, designers collaborate across all the teams in order to solve complex problems and build a product they can be proud of and their users love.

The current team as it stands is split in to 3 squads consisting of at least two designers, two front end developers and a product owner on each. Supported by an independent research and analytics team that feeds each squad with all the customer insights you could ever want.

The role

Joining a newly formed squad (The 4th squad in the team) you will be the first designer on an exciting new project. They have recently developed a brand new, bespoke piece of AI Tech that they will be rolling out in one of their online ‘creation tools’ – a place where customers can build, edit and customise the products that they purchase. The goal of this tech is to make the online purchasing experience even easier with recommendations, automated processes and so much more.

As the Senior Product Designer, you will work closely with the research team, analysing data to understand user needs and frame problem statements. From here you will work with the wider team to set your own goals and work through user journey mapping, wireframing, prototyping, user testing (in many forms), visual design and work closely with developers to deliver the new features.

Despite being the first designer of the team, as the project grows this team will grow with it. However, in the interim, don’t think for a second that you are alone. With ‘whole team’ weekly stand-ups and other designers always on hand, you will have support and collaboration within arm’s reach at all times.
