Senior-Lead Service Designer

Energy Company via a Consultancy

This is to work on a big project for an energy company via a consultancy, alongside a high calibre team of other designers and researchers.

This consultancy pride themselves on collaboration and a truly top-end team of Product Designers, Service Designers and User Researchers.

For the project at hand, you’d be working with one of their key clients – a large energy firm. They need someone to run a program of work for innovative energy projects and fleet mobility solutions in all shapes and sizes. From a single car to thousands of various vehicles (with a big focus on electric ones). It’s essentially a one-stop-shop for customers to track invoices, GPS tracking and hiring vehicles.

Contracts typically tend to start off as 3 months but the scope of work is expected to run till the end of the year at least.

You’ll need to have worked in a dedicated Service Design capacity, on projects with deliverables such as service blueprints, end-to-end journey maps and strategic business consultation alongside many familiar UX Research methodologies and findings.

They will expect you to come from a UX background potentially but these roles won’t be for you if new and wanting to get into Service Design. Nor are they suitable if you’ve just worked on end-to-end UX projects. You’ll need to have worked as a Service Designer in previous roles I’m afraid and ideally may have lead teams or Service Design projects before also.
