UX and Service Design

Senior/Lead Product (UX) Designer

Coworking office chain

Great opportunity to really own what you're working on whilst still having a UX peer alongside you and a Head of UX to report to.

The client

This client has 15,000+ members working across numerous buildings throughout the UK with more opening next year. They house one of the fastest growing and most diverse workforces in Britain, from big name brands through to app creators and advertising agencies through to artists, architects and freelancers.

Their aim is to offer state of the art facilities within a bespoke and characterful environment, with each of their coworking spaces differing to the other – unlike many of their rivals.

The role

The client is looking for an experienced digital product designer to join their growing team. You’ll have broad knowledge of design from user research to UI design.

You’ll be able to run projects end-to-end and shift between designing for web and native apps as needed. They don’t mind what tools you use so long as you you’re happy working in a fast, iterative way where reversible decisions are made quickly and then validated.

They believe a large part of a designer’s job is facilitation and communication, so you’ll be comfortable getting people’s ideas out of their heads and synthesising them into coherent user journeys and designs. You’ll then be able to confidently justify your decisions to the rest of the business because you tested them with customers. You’ll be naturally curious about the world of UX, incredibly passionate about design, and constantly trying to improve your skills. You’ll also keep up to date with the latest design tools, research techniques and UI trends, whether that’s through blogs, conferences, books, meet-ups or online communities.

As well as a Head of UX to report to you’ll also have a Senior-Lead User Researcher to work alongside too.

The candidate

You will have;

  • Strong and proven experience working as a Product / UX designer in digital, with user interface, interaction and visual design skills, ideally within ecommerce retail, real estate, travel or hospitality sectors.
  • Solid understanding of UX, interaction design and visual design best practice and web standards.
  • Strong experience designing for mobile web and apps and a portfolio that demonstrates it.
  • Well-practiced in the creation of a range of UX deliverables including experience maps, user journeys and flows, wireframes and prototypes, preferably with Axure.
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Ability to clearly articulate the rationale behind design solutions and how they are driven and then validated by customers.
  • Demonstrable ability to work in a fast-paced and highly collaborative environment, ideally within an agile methodology.
