ESG Solutions

With a substantial amount of funding and remote first, this for-profit company have the goal of empowering private markets to build a more inclusive and sustainable form of capitalism.

The client

They’ve bought together the finest minds in financial data, private equity, social justice and inclusive capitalism to achieve this goal. The technology they’re building allows private markets to better collect, analyse, benchmark and report ESG (Environmental, Social, Governance) data.

You’ll be embedded into one of their squads working on expanding the features set of ESG data. It’s a chance to get involved in an early stage of the product’s development, so lots of greenfield work as well as the opportunity to steer and shape the platform’s technical direction.

They’re looking to build out three more product teams, on top of their existing two, in a drive to really scale up the product as clients begin to flow in quickly. They prioritise customer satisfaction so have a focus on making small, incremental improvements. They’re big believers in agile, working in small cycles.

The role

What tech do they work with?

  • React and NextJS for their frontend, and TypeScript (though they’ll help you get up to speed here if you’ve not worked with it before) and Node for their backend.
  • Postgres for persistent storage and Docker to package their services into containers.
  • AWS for deployment. Specifically ECS, ECR, RDS, Fargate & Lambda.
  • Terraform to define their Infrastructure as Code.

The candidate

What are they looking for and what will you be doing?

Day to day you’ll be working closely with the team to architect and implement new features. In each product team there are designers and product managers, so you’ll be comfortable working with such people. They’re very big on coaching and mentoring so will be looking for you to have an input here.

As the company was founded around a year ago, you’ll have to have a real start-up mentality. You’ll be expected to make decisions and act with purpose. Lastly, you’ll have extensive and demonstrable experience in writing testable, modular and extensible code in TypeScript, JavaScript, React and Node.

In return for the above they’re offering a salary of up to £110K, fully remote working (some of the team like to meet up more often in their shared space in London), 25 days holiday, private medical insurance and a 5% pension contribution from their side.

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
