Senior Frontend Developer

This start-up are looking to reinvent home ownership by co-investing with people who aren’t yet on the ladder.

The client

They currently number just over 30 and are united in the goal of addressing one of the biggest and most life-changing problems their customers have; how they can get onto the housing ladder and secure home ownership for themselves and their families.

They’re looking to bring on a Senior Frontend Developer to join their tech team of 12. You’ll be working on the entire customer journey (from searching and buying, to living and managing homes) as well as the internal processes and tools required to make these journeys run smoothly. There are lots of new features to build for their customer facing websites, some of which are greenfield. On top of that you will get the chance to take complete ownership of some projects. You’ll also be working closely with the frontend lead (who’s a lovely guy) to mentor the other two junior/mid level members of the frontend team.

The role

Currently they’re all working from home for obvious reasons but going forward they’re looking to work 2/3 days in the office (which is dog friendly) and 2/3 days from home, though if you needed to work remote they’d be open to you doing so, so long as you were available to come into the office for important meetings and team builds.

You’ll be working with a variety of different languages and tools, such as:

·         JavaScript – think React/Redux, TypeScript, Recoil, Storybook etc.

·         HTML and CSS.

·         UX – they’d like you to have a good sense of design, understanding the intricacies here.

Bonus points if you’ve worked with SSR frameworks such as NextJS, have any exposure to frontend DevOps or know a thing or two about web accessibility. Finding a good developer is the most important thing for them though, so if you’ve not got experience in all of the above then it wouldn’t be a massive problem.

The candidate

They’re offering up to £80K for the position and put a big emphasis on work/life balance, including unlimited holidays (and they’ll make sure you take at least 28!), your own choice of hardware and potential share options.
