Senior Frontend Developer

Cyber security company

My client is looking for a Mid-Senior Developer to join them, ideally with significant React and ES6 experience.

The client

They’re developing cybersecurity products that bring together their own hardware, firmware and software to provide an unrivalled combination of security, usability and performance. They’re looking to bring on a frontend developer to join their fast-growing team.

You’ll be developing, integrating and supporting the web-based components of the overall solution and transforming their frontend development capability.

The role

Although it is a frontend position there is still some variation to the position. As well as developing frontend functionality you’ll be contributing to the scoping and design of new software and supporting planning and estimating.

You’ll also be identifying and investigating defects in the systems and developing bug fixes, plus corresponding enhancements to the product. It will be down to you to improve code maintainability and supportability through code refactoring, peer review and other means.

They’re really big on using the latest tech so are open to you investigating new technologies. It is a challenging, supportive and fast moving working environment with the opportunity to learn about different technologies.

The candidate

What do you need?

  • Strong experience on the frontend, with modern JavaScript frameworks and libraries including ES6, React and Redux. CSS post-processing libraries such as SASS, LESS and SCSS would be great as well.
  • Robust cross-browser and multiple device support, as well as experience having created a complete development and test environment for web applications.
  • Any exposure to Node would be a huge bonus, as would any prior experience with PHP (though that would only take about 1% of your day).
  • It would be super useful (though not essential) if you’ve worked on an AWS platform before, as well as having knowledge of interactive data visualization libraries and animation libraries
  • Any experience with MSE or WebRTC would also be a bonus.

They’re offering up to £62K and are willing to consider people from junior to junior/mid-level. One perk is the great pension scheme they have – 8%! They’re also offering childcare vouchers, 25 days holiday (plus the opportunity to buy more), a bike to work scheme, life insurance, critical illness cover and a bonus scheme that has paid out every year so far. They also have a very active social committee who have organised some pretty cool things over the years!
