Ruby Developer

Government Sector

We are looking for a developer to join one of the delivery teams in the Legal Aid Agency, part of the Government sector.

 

6-month initial contract, £700pd, inside IR35, hybrid 2 days a week in any of their UK office locations.

 

This sector of the government are on a mission to modernize, maintain and make better digital services for the Legal Aid Agency. This involves building new products & services on the back of user research and based on user needs.

 

Your approach:

● A systematic approach to problem solving

● A commitment to share knowledge with permanent staff in the delivery team

● A willingness to help transform government into a more agile organisation, by helping

to embed modern development practices

● A proactive attitude towards documenting software, business processes and incidents

 

Your key skills and experience – must have:

● Experience working in Ruby

● Experience building resilient and stable software

● Experience of automated testing techniques

● Experience of building CI/CD pipelines and modern deployment approaches

● Experience securely designing, building and maintaining APIs, services and systems

● Experience of building cloud-native applications and working with Infrastructure as Code

● Experience of working with relational databases

● Experience working in an agile multi-disciplinary team

 

Your key skills and experience – nice to have:

● Experience integrating with legacy systems

● Experience of working with NoSQL databases

● Frontend web skills

● Ruby on Rails

● Kubernetes

● Terraform

● Docker
