Remote friendly, this award-winning online stock market research service is looking for a Senior PHP Engineer to help build their core applications.

The client

You’ll be working with a small team of finance experts and technologists to have a significant impact on the future of their SaaS platform and have complete ownership of your space.

The role

On a day to do you’ll be doing the following;

  • Help design and architect their main user-facing application.
  • Implementing innovative and often first-in-market product functionality.
  • Working with cross-functional teams and adhering to the highest coding standards.
  • Taking ownership, being autonomous, and collaborating in equal measure as required.
  • Working in an organisation-wide Agile/DevOps culture.
  • Making use of modern technologies, including Kubernetes, containerization, and CD.
  • Joining in with code reviews, knowledge sharing, and mentoring.

The candidate

How do I get this job?

They want someone with demonstrable commercial experience creating applications with PHP 7.x and Symfony, as well as a strong understanding of application and data architecture. They put a strong emphasis on engineering best practices and craftmanship so ideally, you’ll be of a similar mind. Deep knowledge of relational and NoSQL databases such as MySQL and MongoDB would be great. It would be a bonus if you’ve worked with modern DevOps technologies but no problem if not, so long as you are happy to work in a real DevOps culture going forward.

The role is 100% remote (they surveyed their staff and find that remote working allows people to be most productive), with amazing training and development budget and also a decent holiday allowance.

The salary is £75,000, though this can be flexed for the right person!
