PHP Developer (Symfony)

Skilled in PHP & Symfony? The role is with a nifty independent customer experience studio based in the Fitzrovia area and looking to add to their growing development team.

The client

This is an agency, which aids their clients by reimagining their customer experiences. They work with numerous multinationals and globally renowned brands, as well as various start-ups and smaller companies. Their London team currently sits at around 50, with a small development team of 5, which includes A lead, senior and a few mid-level developers. This is a great role for any PHP devs that are looking for structured career progression and to take the leap into a more senior position.

The role

The main project that you would be getting stuck into would be the ongoing renewal and development of a complex custom-built ecommerce system, which they are building for a major German brand. The project has an exciting roadmap planned out for the future development, which includes lots of new feature development, as well as a modular component-based CMS which will be built from scratch. You’ll also be able to share input towards and help steer the direction of the project. The core system is developed in PHP/Symfony, so this is where most of your work would lie, but you would also get the chance to work across multiple other projects and upskill in technologies such as React, GO, DevOps and much more (if that interests you, of course!).

The candidate

  • Solid PHP and Symfony experience
  • Database experience with MySQL
  • The ability to input into the technical approach to projects
  • Familiarity with object-oriented design and design patterns.
  • Experience with development methodologies such as DDD, BDD and TDD.

Any experience in the following technologies would also be a bonus: Docker, RabbitMQ, API Integrations, REST/SOAP, Java, Go, Kubernetes, Spring/Spring boot, JavaScript, React.
