UX and Service Design

Senior Product Designer

Global Hospitality Chain

Are you a Senior Product Designer who wants to join one of the fastest growing and most loved food chain restaurants in the UK? If so, the opportunity I have will allow you to work for a rapidly growing business that is undergoing one of the biggest digital transformations within the hospitality sector. You can be a part of this journey.

The client

My client is doing this by making sure throughout the whole process of making their iconic food so good they are putting the people who add/ contribute to this process first! Their biggest asset is the people that work for them.

The thing that makes this business so successful is the people behind the brand, they are looking for people that can be as passionate if not more than themselves. The reason people are so behind the brand is that it’s a lifestyle.

The role

  • Actively lead the work of one or more experiences/domains under the direction/support of the Lead within a cross-functional team.
  • Contribute to our Design System with Tech colleagues, proactively recommending changes.
  • Manage/lead a project on its own, oversee multiple projects and collaborate with the members of other product teams. Consider multiple use cases for solutions (different channels, contexts, etc).
  • Discover, define insight, and ideate on a problem, with a solid understanding of heuristics and UX methodologies, while having the UI chops to use existing components from our Design System or create lovely, gorgeous new ones.
  • Be used to using research and data to validate your thinking within the design process. Conduct user testing interviews, write surveys, and report back findings to the Lead Researcher.
  • Supporting teams with prototyping, A/B testing & training, guidance and mentoring on how to build tests.
  • Ensure we design our experiences to enable customers to seamlessly transition between our digital and physical channels. A champion of accessibility, you will ensure our digital products and services are inclusive for all.
  • Know that words and narrative play a strong part in explaining design decisions and presenting work with the relevant context to the UXD team, peers and stakeholders.
  • Mentor, help and educate as needed. Evangelising the UXD team & design thinking in the organisation.
  • Be a key contributor to the meeting.
  • Be comfortable presenting or facilitating workshops.
  • Keep current with trends, stay ahead of the curve.
  • Suggest improvements in existing methodologies and feed up to the Design Leadership. Contribute to our communities of practice through knowledge-sharing and presentations with other members of the UXD team.

The candidate

  • 3-5+ years of experience in a product role or evidence of strong cross-transferable experience.
  • Experience can be varied across industries, but some domain-specific experience can help but is not necessary.
  • Delivered multiple instances of successful work within product areas, with a solid understanding of the double diamond process, heuristics and UX methodologies.
  • Be a strong collaborator, balancing the voice of the customer with business goals, pushing for the best experience possible.
  • Excellent attention to detail and craft, you pick on up the little things before anyone else.
  • Excellent knowledge of tools for design and delivery (e.g. Miro, Adobe CC, Figma, ProtoPie).
