The client

They are building a bank that has its customers at the heart of everything they do. A product that’s fair, transparent and a pleasure to use while setting out to solve all the problems that exist around your financial life in a coherent and meaningful way.

Following an incredible growth period (Now at over 400 people since inception 3 years ago) they are focusing on growing their design team.

The Product Design Team:

You’ll be part of a team with a flat structure sitting on one of the 12 product squads at any given time and taking ownership over the project assigned to you. Because the team is comparatively small (7 Product Designers, 2 Researchers) every designer has a huge amount of impact on the products being shipped.

The role

The role of a Product Designer:

Working closely with all the other teams in the business to frame problems, define the right solutions and ultimately ship great products. Supported by the research team, you will take the data to understand both business and user needs and work truly end to end through the UX processes and delivering beautiful and clean designs.

The team believe that the only way to stay ahead, is to constantly evolve and are quick to adopt better tools and processes if they need to, so you’ll be more than welcome to contribute all the best practices you’ve used before.

Key responsibilities as a Product Designer:

  • Solve real problems. This is the biggest factor of the role. Everything you do will be solving a real user problem whether it’s a small flow change, an update to the visual language or implementing entirely new features/products.
  • Work closely with the wider team to define product vision and develop solutions.
  • Produce flows, wireframes and prototypes for both web and mobile products.
  • Constantly iterate and improve your ideas through comprehensive testing.
  • Deliver design specifications to the development team and work closely with them as they implement your ideas.
  • Contribute to the overall design vision of the business.

The candidate

  • Sketch is your tool of choice.
  • If you are good with After Effects or any other motion design tools or prototyping that’s a bonus!
