Mid Product Designer

An opportunity for an end to end product designer to join a small team within a high growth start-up, building products and tools that can genuinely effect the lives of millions of students for the better.

Since 2017, they’ve grown rapidly and now work in over 28 countries. They’ve raised over $13M from top-tier investors that will fuel the next stage in their growth and help them to achieve their ambitious goal of empowering 10 million students.

As part of this growth, they’re transforming their entire product offering and they need people like you to help them do it.

The role

As a Product Designer you will join an existing team of two (so three in total with this role) and you will take ownership of the end to end design process, working collaboratively with cross functional teams to create beautiful and functional product features in a fast paced, agile environment.

They have a product portfolio with multiple tiers and includes a host of tech that enables people to connect through chat functions, video streaming/conferencing and forums so there’s a tomn of interesting design challenges to sink your teeth into.

While the team is supported by a dedicated researcher, you will still be required to conduct some of your own research.

As part of a rapidly growing business, you will gain exposure to all areas of the business, understanding the key success drivers at a high growth start-up and gaining invaluable experience for your future career. You will play a pivotal role in the creation of exciting new products in their roadmap and have significant scope for personal development.

Key responsibilities:

  • Embed yourself within squads, working closely with product owners and engineers, facilitating a collaborative multidisciplinary approach to design.
  • Be an advocate for various user groups, understanding and empathising with their needs.
  • Work closely with a dedicated researcher and understand how to leverage data to come up with the best possible solutions.
  • Create a knowledge base of clearly documented UX problems and solutions in the form of; user journeys maps, wireframes etc.
  • Create beautiful high fidelity designs, and clickable prototypes.
  • Work closely with the rest of the design team to ensure continued alignment and improving quality across their product suite, and overall brand.

The candidate

What you need:

  • Previous experience in a hybrid UX / UI design role, evidenced by a portfolio of case studies outlining your process.
  • Experience working in cross functional agile teams, collaborating with product owners and engineers.
  • Able to facilitate workshops and other collaborative sessions.
  • Experience working with Design Systems.
  • Proficient with Figma (or any similar tool for the creation of clickable prototypes)

Nice to have:

  • Experience working on SaaS or complex products.
  • Experience in a high growth start-up.
