UX and Service Design

Lead UX Designer

Software Consultancy

Great opportunity to join a design team made up of User Researchers, UI, UX and Service Designers working together with Developers for an agency/consultancy who really value their staff & culture.

The client

This privately-owned company is in growth-mode for their design disciplines, so it’s an interesting time to join and help shape the proposition!

Historically being a tech consultancy they also build out their solutions, working closely with the in-house engineering team.

They have a design team of approximately 8 people, covering UX, UI and User Research but they need more senior team members to help develop their client relationships and experiences even further.

This company also takes great pride in selecting projects that have a positive societal impact! NOT whatever they can get in and out of the door as quickly and cheaply as possible.

They have a London-based office but the expectation is very relaxed/grown-up around when you need to come in i.e. if there’s a client workshop or company event, come in. But if it’s business as usual, work where you like.

They also offer a 50% profit share from the company which goes back to employees based on performances. As you can imagine, they have great staff retention levels also!

*Sorry, sponsorship is unavailable.

The role

This a great opportunity for someone at Lead-level or perhaps even someone ready to move up to Lead-level (which they are open to), to come in and ask questions of the agency, their processes, and their clients – in order to shake things up and improve experiences in as many areas as possible. The key is someone who can ask the right questions at the right time.

Whilst growing with the agency, you will have a strong opportunity to craft your future role in the team also.

You’ll work very closely with clients in intense, user-focused, prototype driven sprints, that grow into long-term relationships. Creating designed experiences with real impact!

The candidate

  • Strong experience working as a UX Designer – at least up to Senior level if not Lead, within an agency, design studio or product environment.
  • Have led projects from the design perspective
  • Loves planning and facilitating workshops
  • A highly strategic mindset – knows how to develop compelling value propositions for end users
  • Enjoys line management, or have mentoring experience
  • Experience working within design sprints/agile methodologies
  • Awesome hands-on skills in delivering prototypes and design artefacts. Likes producing sketches, task-flows, story-boards, site-maps, system maps, user journeys etc
  • Ability to carry out qualitative research & user testing, collaborated with researchers
  • Experience in scoping and outlining approaches to projects – can provide realistic time/scope/risk estimates for a project, define artefacts and milestones
