The client

They are a product and innovation studio with three offices internationally and a roster of top tier clients that include names like Google, Amazon, BBC and RBS. They build products and services across a broad spectrum of touch points that go far beyond just websites, apps and software products. They are pioneering in new tech like AI, Voice, VR and AR too.

They’re looking to grow their Bristol team by bringing on both a Lead Python Developer and a mid or senior of the same ilk.

The role

The team are growing one of their key accounts and therefore growing the team. The aim is to bring in a Lead Developer, as well as a mid/senior. The team of 6 is currently split between London and Bristol and they’re looking to base the entire team in Bris.

This role will see you working as part of a cross-functional, collaborative team on a long term project with a pretty well known search engine (the fact they use Google Cloud may give it away 😉).

You will have the chance to work with some of the largest tech businesses in the world, lead the way in new tech and help to build this agencies reputation as one of the best in Bristol.

Ultimately, you will be involved in some incredible projects right from the word go.

The candidate

The team knows that a ‘Lead Developer’ comes in all shapes ad sizes, but the fundamentals of what you need are:

  • Proven experience working in Python and Django.
  • Prior experience in AWS or Azure (they’ll get you up to speed on Google Cloud if you’ve not used it before).
  • Any exposure to the front end would be a bonus. They use Node on some projects whilst React and Vue are always appreciated, as is a strong knowledge of the JavaScript ecosystem.
  • Experience and ability to collaborate well with the wider team throughout the problem-solving process.
  • Detail-focused craftsperson who sets a high bar for quality in their coding.
  • Some experience in a client facing position would be ideal, as you will be communicating with stakeholders.
  • Comfortable presenting and articulating your designs to the team and wider stakeholders.
