UX and Service Design

UX Designer

Communications agency

Great opportunity for someone at mid-level to join an existing UX team and develop their profile further, especially on the UX Research side.

The client

The agency has about 100 people on-board and 5 within the UX team (includes a Head of UX).

They’re all about customer engagement through fusing creativity, data and technology. They’re NOT just another marketing agency who have a go-to UX department which consists of a couple of full-time wireframers! These guys are big on proper UX approaches, utilising various research methodologies to accompany their designs/solutions and even have 2 testing labs onsite!

They also have a range of well-known, global clients, although they have 1 key client in particular you’d be working on primarily.

The role

This is a great opportunity to help support the UX team whilst getting up-skilled and developed – especially with regard to UX research, which is often a weaker area for consultants at junior-mid level. However, if you’re more on the research side already and want to get your UX design side strengthened-up, then this role/team could help with that too!

You will mainly be working on one of the agency’s key accounts. However, you will still have plenty of variety through the mixed-bag of projects that account would entail as the end-client is huge!

You might come from a visual or UI design background, which is fine and potentially helpful, but this role is not a hybrid one. You will be a focussed UX Designer.

However, they’ll expect you to at least have had your most recent role in a focussed UX design position, rather than UI design.

The candidate

You will have;

  • great soft-skills and a collaborative nature
  • some experience working as a dedicated UX designer previously
  • well presented and comprehensive portfolio that shows your process as well as deliverables
  • willingness to learn and develop your profile as much as possible
  • a passion for digital design and engagement
