JavaScript Engineer

Medical start-up

On a social mission to solve and modernise care challenges, a Battersea based start-up are looking for a JavaScript Engineer to join them.

The client

They’re motivated to enable people who require care, to live happily and safely on their own terms. The goal is to build genuine and respectful relationships with professional carers, clients and families to improve the industry.

They lead with technical innovation that improves efficiency and supports people to do what they need to do even better. They’re innovating workforce management, operations systems and data collection to help track and improve outcomes.

The role

They’re currently working to transition away from using an outsourced agency to building everything in house, so this is a key role for them. You’ll be working closely with management to transition and will be sitting next to their design, care management and marketing teams to rapidly iterate and deliver to roadmap requitements.

Their entire stack is JavaScript based, so they’re looking for someone who’s proficient working with Node and Lambda (they’re serverless on AWS), as well as ideally having experience with DynamoDB. Any exposure to the frontend with React would be a huge bonus, though not absolutely essential (they’d be happy to help you up to speed).

You will be helping to influence the technical direction of the team and engineering roadmap as well as identifying, anticipating and resolving any performance or scalability issues.

The candidate

During Covid everyone has been working from home 95% of the time. When things return to a semblance of normality they’ll be offering at least 2 days a week working from home, as well as flexible working. They’re keen for people to really buy into the company so offer generous options as well as 25 days holiday (plus bank holidays), and the generic coffee and snacks to keep you going. Salary wise they’re offering up to £58K.

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes women, men, mothers, fathers, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
