Java Developer - Leeds - Up To £440/day

My client is looking for a heavily skilled full-stack Java developer with skills in mobile app development to get involved in leading the digital transformation for a key government sector. The company employ over 50,000 people and have a massive annual budget of over £4 billion. They have a lot of complex ongoing projects that you’d get stuck into, joining a team of the best Java and Mobile developers in the business.

You’ll be working in a large-scale delivery environment, with multiple developers working on a single code base with split deliveries. You’ll also be required to communicate complex technical subjects to none technical audience. This means you’ll need to be an effective communicator, both written and spoken.

Required skills and experience: 

  • Java 8
  • JavaScript
  • React or Native Mobile App development – iOS, Android

Desirable skills and experience: 

  • CI/CD tools such as Jenkins, Git, GitHub, Nexus
  • Spring Boot, Maven
  • Adobe Experience Manager
  • Pivotal Cloud Foundry, Mule API Gateway
  • Application Monitoring – Splunk / App Dynamics
  • Test Automation tooling – such as Selenium, JUnit, Wiremock, Mockito, Jest, Enzyme

Helpful tools/methodologies:

  • Agile methodologies – Scrum, Kanban, Lean UX, XP
  • Agile Tooling – Jira, Confluence, Slack
  • Automated Testing tooling and methodologies

This would Initially be a minimum of 3 months, with a very high chance of further extensions.
