JavaScript (React) Developer

"Stealth Mode" startup

We’ve partnered with a ‘stealth mode startup’ that have a huge and ambitions vision to create the largest, global knowledge sharing platform across all subject matters.

The client

We are currently under a nondisclosure agreement with the organisation to not give too much away as they have yet to launch their product to the public, however, let’s see if we can get your attention using their tech stack…

JavaScript, React, Redux, TypeScript, Flow, Node, Microservices, GraphQL, Apollo, Gatsby, Next.js, , GitLab, Circle CI, Jenkins, Webpack, Babel, Grunt, Google Cloud, AWS, Firebase, Docker, Kubernetes, IOS, Android, HTML, CSS, SASS.

I’ll also mention that their founder is a VERY well-respected figure in the tech industry.

The role

This isn’t the kind of role where you rock up to the office, grab a coffee and a ticket and get going. The process here is more along the lines of closely collaborating with the other teams and defining the “ticket” yourself. You’ll have a lot of technical freedom with this one, making the web platform your own and breaking down projects as you see fit. You’ll also own the tech stack and be able to introduce any new tech that you feel would benefit the project.

They operate in a very trusting and open work culture, where everyone’s voice holds equal weight when it comes to company decisions.

They have a very high caliber of developers, with the current team including 4 backend, 1 frontend and 2 mobile developers.

The candidate

Here’s what they’re looking for:

  • Solid experience in JavaScript and React/Redux (Ideally having a deep understanding of the JavaScript ecosystem rather than just pushing features day in day out).
  • Strong experience in TypeScript
  • A deep understanding of system design, data structures and algorithms and understand how to apply them to design pragmatic solutions.
  • Strong track record of writing clean, maintainable, scalable and tested code
  • Collaborative worker that values long term company vision, self and team growth.

Any experience with other techs listed above would be a massive bonus!

If this has you intrigued, drop me a note and we can catch up and run through in more detail.

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
