Based in Old Street, this free credit provider allows their users to put the power back into their hands.

The client

Essentially, you can find out what a bank knows about you and gain access to credit in situations you wouldn’t have been able to before. They’ve got 1.5 million customers, though with 150,000 more joining each month there is lots for you to get stuck into. Having recently just received a £29 billion investment they are looking for a Frontend Developer to join the fast-expanding team.

The role

As a company they’re committed to giving all of their employees autonomy so you can expect the freedom to prioritise your work. They operate in small, cross-functional teams which are comprised of developers, designers and a product owner. Agile processes are loosely followed (they tend to release continually as opposed to sprints) and good practices such as TDD, BDD and integration testing are a core part of what they do.

When it comes to languages they’re looking for someone who’s happy working with React/Redux, as this will make up a large part of your day. In the long term they’re keen to get you trained up with React Native. A solid foundation in ES6 would be great as would any experience with Node, AWS and an interest in functional programming (F#!).

The candidate

They’re very big on looking after their employees so a training budget is allocated to each person. As well as that they’re pretty big on conferences and offer lots of social events. Flexitime and working from home options are offered.
