Frontend Developer

User Experience Agency

This agency are BIG on ecommerce and retail, working with some of the biggest, well know brands in the world.

The client

They combine the power of customer insight, UX and design with constant innovation and experimentation to help leading brands create remarkable customer experiences.

You’ll be working with one of their two long term clients, either leading a team of 2 other developers or singularly on a project (with the opportunity to lead a team in the future). They’re looking for someone who’s got that solid knowledge of frontend development – primarily you’ll be working in Vanilla JS though they do make use of React and Gatsby as well. There’ll also be some work with NodeJS, building APIs and the like.

They’ve actually just ended the lease on their office and are taking the company entirely remote through to April, when they’ll look to gather feedback from their employees on potential next steps. Currently they’re thinking a scaled down office with the option to pop in when you want.

The role

Here’s a run down of a few things they’d like to see:

  • Advanced knowledge of Vanilla JS and frameworks – think React, Gatsby etc.
  • Extensive experience with HTML, CSS (and preprocessors such as SCSS).
  • Knowledge of NodeJS.
  • Experience with Task Runners such as Gulp, Grunt, Webpack etc.
  • Experience with templating languages such as Handlebars or Pug.
  • A desire to keep up to date with the latest frontend technologies (they’ve recently played around with GraphQL for example).
  • Experience building responsive HTML emails.

The candidate

They’re offering up to £50K for the role and are keen to fly through interviews, which they’ve condensed to a 15 minute intro call, followed by a technical test and a final stage, lasting an hour.

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
