Digital Design Lead

Role: Design Lead / Interactive Art Director - London based
Salary ballpark: 60k – 65k (No higher)
Ideal start date: ASAP, but can wait for the right person if people are on a 1-month or 2-month notice

The client

An experience design and technology studio sitting within one of London’s top full-service advertising agencies.

Specialists across UI, UX, Digital Design, Motion, Development and Technology creating high-standards of work across all digital touch points.

Based in Central London. Working across all agency clients.

Friendly culture, feels like an agency within a bigger agency, quite social, all want to impress the industry with the work they produce. Very much a 9 – 5.30 agency, not a sweatshop mentality like bigger networks.

The role

What are they looking for?
A Design lead with some conceptual art direction and ideation skills. The candidate must be design first before an art director (and from a design background). Existing management experience is also needed, you could be looking to move into your 2nd management role, or coming from a senior position where you have experience managing juniors.

The role is to lead the creative and design output of digital products and lead across the likes of digital advertising, motion, websites, apps and interactive experiences.

Reporting Into: Interactive Creative Director
The Team: Design department consists of 25 people (7 UX, 18 UI). Agency consists of 70 people total.

The candidate

Candidates must show a portfolio full of beautifully crafted design (Including concepts, mood boards/mood reals, sketches, early mock-ups and demos, all the way through to final design and made products). Portfolios should demonstrate skills across a mixture of responsive site layouts, UI app design, games, interactive entertainment, interface design, animation, site ideation, experience design and creative concepts.

Hierarchy of Requirements:
– Must be open to traveling to Slough and Milton Keynes when needed. (Some weeks this could be a couple of times – other weeks you won’t need to travel at all)
– Portfolio must show beautiful design craft; they don’t want to see boring work!
– Big brand experience within portfolio.
– Confident but not cocky persona. Must have a personality too.

Programs: Proficient in Photoshop, Illustrator, After Effects and Sketch, with skills in prototyping software too.
Extra info: Candidates must be confident in clearly presenting their best work from their portfolio in interviews.
