By putting their customers first, they offer a service and product portfolio that aims to not only provide great financial products and a great user experience, but educate their users along the way. By doing so, they aim to give them control and the ability to make the best decisions about their finances…even if that means going with a competitor.

The role

As the Lead / Head of Design you’ll be leading on all areas of design for the brand but with a large focus on digital Product Design. You’ll be establishing design vision, best practices and supporting your team in discovery, design, and delivery for Product, brand and some marketing collateral.

As a truly end – end designer, you will be leading design across all elements of the digital experience for their portfolio of mobile apps and responsive websites. Starting with research to really understand your customer base and following the entire product process (Concepts, personas, wires, flows, prototyping, testing and final visual design for developer hand-off etc.) to deliver best in class experiences for their users. This could be for entirely new products and features or improving those that are already in place.

You will also oversee and grow a small cross-functional ‘Product, Marketing and Design’ team.

Key responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the CPO to drive the long term vision and roadmap for their products and services.
  • Spearhead a user-centred design approach that enables the team to understand their customers’ needs and challenges, and develop solutions based on your findings.
  • Collaborate with the wider team, working with stakeholders, developers and product managers to create compelling and competitive product features that align with the business mission.
  • Act as an ambassador for product and design both internally and externally.
  • Build and lead a small team of designers to help you create best in class products and services.
  • Help to implement better working processes for the team.

The candidate

What you need:

  • Experience managing the digital product process end – end (Both UX and Visual Design)
  • A portfolio of case studies demonstrating your expertise in this area.
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team of designers.
  • Previous experience designing for mobile applications (iOS and Android).
  • A deep understanding of user-centred design principles and best practice.
  • Ability to balance customer needs with business requirements and technical constraints.

 

  • (Nice to have) Previous experience in a high-growth startup.
  • (Nice to have) An understanding of the FS or FinTech sector.
