The client

An award-winning digital agency that use strategy, creativity and technology to help brands adapt, innovate and thrive.

At their core, they design brands and seamless digital experiences for high-end organisations in the hospitality, travel, property, retail, wellness and luxury sectors.

The team is made up of 50 passionate strategists, producers, UX designers, content producers, and engineers (Among a few other disciplines).

The role

As the Digital Design Director you will work closely with the Creative Director (Who is stepping away from digital to focus more on brand) and collaborate with the wider team of Designers, UX and Interactive Developers across pitches and current projects that span a wide range of clients.

This is a hands-on management opportunity where you will have hands-on ownership of projects from sketching, concepting, animating and prototyping to pixel-perfect final deliverables while also managing and growing a team of five designers.

Since you will work side by side with a UX Director, your core focus will be on the Visual side, crafting beautiful yet functional digital experiences and as a team owning digital experience projects for the agency.

Key responsibilities:

  • Manage and own development of concepts, strategies, and client presentations with the support of the Creative Director.
  • Manage and supervise multiple projects, team members and clients.
  • Ensure resources are allocated according to your project needs.
  • Direct the design and development of creative materials.
  • Ensure brand identity, strategy and messaging has consistency across channels.
  • Meet client objectives, KPIs, values, budgets, and deadlines.
  • Lead and participate in brainstorming sessions and workshops.
  • Keep up with the latest trends and technologies.
  • Evaluate creative team performance and guiding improvements.
  • Collaborate with other departments.

The candidate

You will need:

  • A portfolio of work demonstrating your experience crafting digital experiences across web and mobile.
  • Previous experience managing a team of any size.
  • To have lead projects yourself both from a creative standpoint and managing the client relationship.
  • Experience working with clients that fall into the Luxury category.
  • To be comfortable creating animated prototypes which will be used for client pitches and presentations.
