Backend Developer

Games development company

Ever played the Final Fantasy series? Liked it? Fancy working for the guys who developed the whole thing? Then read on..

The client

Based in Tower Bridge these guys are looking to bring in a back end developer to bolster their existing development team. You’ll be joining the Digital Platform team, who are responsible for developing the company’s online presence and tech tools.

The role

As a forward thinking company they use the latest technologies, which means you’ll have at least a couple of years’ experience with Go (their legacy stuff is written in PHP, so prior experience with this and Symfony would also be great). Presently their introducing GraphQL as well, so bonus points for having used that before! As any company worth its salt does they work in a TDD environment. Knowledge of other languages such as Python and Elixir would put you at a great advantage, as would working experience of CSS pre-processors or JavaScript frameworks, such as React (for a change!).

Your day to day work will consist of maintaining and expanding Square Enix online tools used to implement direct marketing and analytics activities, as well as helping to develop data processing scripts and participating in the entire lifecycle application. You’ll also be collaborating closely with front end developers to integrate user-facing elements with server side logic.

The candidate

In return for the above they’re offering a salary of up to £60K, plus some great benefits, including flexi working and the occasional remote day! Most importantly, you’ll get a significant discount on the company’s gaming products, so you’ll never need to leave the house again!

We welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences. Our team includes parents, the self-taught, the university-educated, and people of a wide variety of nationalities, ages, and socio-economic backgrounds.

Obviously, we’re looking to ensure it’s a solid fit from both sides: we want you to step into a role you love, and we want to offer you a place you’re proud to come to every day for work.

We know that diverse teams are strong teams, and welcome those with alternative identities, backgrounds, and experiences to apply to be part of life at Zebra People. We are committed to a fair and accessible recruitment process for all candidates. We would be happy to meet any accommodation requests during the application or interview process, please just let us know.
