UX and Service Design

Senior/Lead User Researcher

Coworking office chain

Great opportunity to really own what you're working on whilst still having a UX peer alongside you and a Head of UX to report to.

The client

This client has 15,000+ members working across numerous buildings throughout the UK with more opening next year. They house one of the fastest growing and most diverse workforces in Britain, from big name brands through to app creators and advertising agencies through to artists, architects and freelancers.

Their aim is to offer state of the art facilities within a bespoke and characterful environment, with each of their coworking spaces differing to the other – unlike many of their rivals.

The role

They’re looking for an experienced user researcher to join their team and develop, conduct, analyse and report primary user research intended to drive end-user requirements for the client’s interactive/digital product definition.

You’ll work across multiple projects to deliver the most appropriate quantitative or qualitative research for the Product Development team and feed insights that help formulate and prioritise the requirements backlog in a timely and iterative manner to support Agile cadence.

They don’t mind what tools you use so long as you you’re happy working in a fast, iterative way where reversible decisions are made quickly and then validated. You’ll be comfortable getting people’s ideas out of their heads and synthesising them into coherent research reports and artefacts. You’ll then be able to explain to the Business the research outputs and insights and their impact, providing design ideas and direction if needed.

The candidate

You will have;

  • Strong analytical skills and a proven track record of scoping, designing and conducting user research ideally in ecommerce retail, real estate, travel or hospitality sectors.
  • Extensive experience conducting qualitative and quantitative research, lab-based usability studies, focus groups, online surveys, ethnographic observation, and contextual enquiry.
  • Extensive experience, allowing you to propose and justify the most appropriate research techniques.
  • Experience integrating user research into product design and design practices, from concept through to launch and post launch analysis.
  • Strong project management skills and track record of delivery.
  • Experience in setting-up and managing a usability lab.
