Lead Product Designer

We are working with a Tech for Good brand who have been mentoring and helping less advantaged people get into work and are looking for a Lead Product Designer to come through with changes and look to design their products and websites within a cross-functional team.

The client

The role

Upon joining the Design team as the Lead Product Designer, you will be responsible for owning and growing the product design team as they develop as a company. This is a hands-on role in which you’ll be directly managing one Product Designer and working with their Product Managers, Researcher, Product Analyst, and front and back-end Engineers.

Your role will include (but not be limited to):

  • Coach and provide feedback on your team’s performance, helping them to develop clear career development goals and action plans on how to achieve them.
  • Work collaboratively with different disciplines, such as UX Researchers and Data Analysts to effectively influence product growth.
  • Help drive the vision, strategic plan, and execution for our product roadmaps, both short-term and long-term. Shape the user experience, create, and develop new features, and facilitate the design process to take our products from the ideation phase to market-ready
  • Develop new product features/ optimize existing features, carry ideas from initial sketches, create user flows, design the UI, hand them over in the appropriate format to our engineers, and continuously improve the design as we release it to users.

The candidate

 

  • Experience managing Product Designers and have a genuine interest in their growth and their future.
  • Experience in working within a cross-functional Product team
  • Experience creating low fidelity wireframes all the way to high fidelity UI designs.
  • A portfolio of projects that showcase your digital product / web design experience
  • Someone who understands how digital products get built, and you have significant experience shipping them.
