The client

They’re tackling the fundamental problem that many people face, especially those that lack the support, skills, confidence and networks to secure fulfilling, long-term employment.

They have developed a software that levels the playing field for those looking to get into work and succeed when they get there, as well as digital learning content it allows for direct access to employees at the company users are applying to, essentially guarantees all applicants an equal opportunity rather than those lucky enough to have their own network. This is a great chance to join a company that really wants to make a difference in people’s lives.

They’ve decided to develop a second application of their software that is focused on in-depth mentoring relationships, aiming to create stronger relationships between employees and employers. As the company is rapidly growing and looking to scale up dramatically over the second half of 2021, they’re looking for a Data Analyst to join their team in London.

The role

You’d be working with cross-functional teams composed of product managers, UX/UI designers, and engineers, you’ll apply your expertise to drive product decisions and deliver customer/user insights. They work with expert consultants in data, who will provide support to this role, alongside their engineering team and their product function.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Be the heart of product data analysis by leading on the end-to-end analytical approach; mine data for insights, test and validate hypotheses about user behaviour and demonstrate with data how product enhancements bring value to their users and clients.
  • Influence the product roadmap through the presentation of data-driven recommendations.
  • Work together with product teams to define, track and analyse the KPIs that matter most.
  • Work across the product development team to define tracking data to produce relevant business insights, taking ownership to standardise and optimise their product data processes.
  • Create effective data visualisations to communicate insights to internal management and their clients.
  • Discover new data and ways of analysing, for example, machine learning- it’s all about being innovative.
  • Raise the bar for data analytics across the company, ensuring best practice.
  • Take complex business problems, define and structure appropriate analytical questions in order to deliver value.

The candidate

How do I get this job?

They really want someone that is detail-oriented and can get stuff done with a true passion for providing data and analysis. You’ll need to have excellent verbal and written English communication skills and have a willingness to learn. They’re also keen on someone with an understanding of product principles, Agile methodology, and the importance of Lean philosophy. They’re really interested in someone being very proactive within this role.

Ideal experience:

  • SQL to write code and query from a database
  • Power BI to clearly visualise data and prepare business reporting
  • Google Analytics to drive value from understanding their user behaviour
  • A/B testing tools and result interpretation

Although these are the tools they currently use, any relevant experience with other tools/software is still great they really want someone who can demonstrate their ability to translate from raw data to data insights to actionable product enhancement recommendations.

Experience within data science (Statistics- regression, correlation analysis, Python) and knowledge of machine learning would be great but not essential.

They’re offering a salary of up to £50K for this role!
