Product Designer

Identity Technology

Mid-level Product Designer needed to join a team of designers working on a revolutionary identity and biometric technology company. The product has been designed with privacy at its core, creating a legitimate verification process to help keep us and our loved ones protected.

The client

Founded in 2014, our client is a digital identity and biometric technology company that makes it safer for people to prove who they are. As well as numerous other products, the native app was designed with privacy at its core, giving people a secure way to prove their identity and share third-party credentials with organisations and other people.

Today, they have over ten million app downloads around the world. They’ve also expanded our offering to a plethora of business solutions that span identity verification, age verification and estimation, e-signing, AI anti-spoofing technologies and they are continually thinking of innovative new technology solutions.

Their core mission is to outdated identity system. This mission has been taken on with policy advisors, think tanks, researchers, academics, humanitarian bodies, their users and everyday people. Our client is committed to solving identity problems through grassroots research and social purpose initiatives.

The role

  • Both support senior designers and design leads as well as take ownership of your own features and projects.
  • Collaborate closely with research, engineering, marketing, and business partners during all steps of the design cycle.
  • Use evidence-based thinking.
  • Translate research findings, technical and business requirements into well informed thoughtful solutions for the user experience challenges we face
  • Communicate and evangelize design thinking to engineering, marketing, and product teams
  • Work with our developers to ensure consistency and quality throughout the entire product range
  • Contribute to the development and maintenance of our design systems
  • Work with our brand and marketing designers and video editors to create informative and engaging visual and video content to support our product objectives.
  • Work with our brand and marketing team to use your product knowledge to support their work on marketing campaigns.
  • Help evolve the processes, tools, and culture of the design team through participation in workshops and collaboration sessions.
  • Be open to learning new things and look for opportunities to improve team processes and tools.
  • Help embed the design discipline in the company’s culture through evangelizing design thinking.

The candidate

  • Eye for aesthetics, care about delivering a pleasing experience on top of a usable one.
  • Confidence facing complex interaction problems and coming up with simple useable creative solutions
  • Involve stakeholders and peers early and often.
  • Experienced with (or at least up for) running workshops, brainstorms, and various design sessions.
  • Experience working with or building a design system to keep consistency within design and front-end throughout the product.
  • Start from a user’s perspective.
  • Takes initiative and are not waiting for others to make things happen.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills with the ability to influence a range of audiences.
  • An active interest in UX/UI design and research, attending workshops, talks and industry events.
  • Keen knowledge and interest in innovation, particularly how digital technology is impacting and changing every part of our lives.
  • Great knowledge of the principles of human-centred design.
  • Ability to see the big picture while also paying careful attention to detail.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, particularly when working with multi-disciplinary teams.
  • Can establish rapport with a wide variety of colleagues and are an eager advocate of product design.
  • Ability to synthesize user research findings, analytics, business requirements, and technical limitations to design beautiful products that are easy to use.
  • An understanding of how user research can be utilized to create products that meet a user’s need (If you have experience conducting your own user research that’s a bonus).
  • Have a portfolio demonstrating a variety of design skills and evidence of experience working across the product development life cycle.
