Having gone through a major reorganisation they are currently building bigger, specialist digital teams to help them drive their digital presence further. Joining any one of these teams means playing a part in defining, building and launching an ambitious roadmap of digital products that could affect the lives of millions of customers over the years to come.

The role

They are currently looking to add a UI Designer to their mobile apps team who are building one of the country’s most popular shopping apps and setting it up for the future. A chance to work on a product that is used by millions of people.

The cross-functional mobile apps team is made up of research, UX, interaction design, UI and prototyping specialists. As a member of this product team, you will help to define best practices and standards to establish and continuously raise the quality of their native apps.

In addition to this specific product team, you will be embedded within a much wider cross-department, delivery team working to agile practices and towards wider business goals.

Key responsibilities:

  • Development of creative concepts and design rationale and presenting these to team members and stakeholders.
  • Documentation of new design rules, patterns, systems, style guides and interaction guides.
  • Improving on existing native design rules, patterns, systems, style guides and interaction guides.
  • Collaborating with other members of the design team and business to produce consistent, best in class, multi-channel experiences.
  • Be responsible for producing high-quality work in line with project roadmaps.

The candidate

  • Previous experience designing UI for mobile app products.
  • A portfolio of case studies demonstrating your skills and process.
  • Experience working in cross-functional, agile teams.
  • A strong understanding of visual design principles like layout, typography, colour etc.
  • Eager to both mentor and learn from other designers.
  • Previous experience in the retail sector is an advantage.
